The Project
Ardoch is a luxury self catering and corporate getaway based in the scenic setting of the Trossachs National Park in Scotland. It caters to individuals and businesses alike, allowing groups to meet, think and discuss ideas in comfort in a truly inspirational setting.
Ardoch’s management strategy is one of adventure philanthropy, the organisation is none profit, allowing the use of its premises at discount prices to selected charities once it has broken even each year. This enables charities such as Columba 1400 the ability to hold their meetings and seminars surrounded by natural beauty, giving its members a much needed change from the tough inner city realities.
Bright Creations involvement
Our involvement in Ardoch was required from their very inception and is still ongoing.
With no processes, systems or experience in the management of hotels our first responsibility was to provide Ardoch with a complete breakdown of all the processes and procedures through a thorough business consulting and research phase, thus ensuring the efficient running of the business day by day.
This was then followed up with a complete draw up of requirements and a detailed prototype based heavily upon abstracting the complex functionality into intelligent design. This required giving Ardoch‘s users differing views of the system based on their responsibilities within the organisation and coming up with innovative approaches to displaying states in publishing, booking confirmation, payments and task management cycles, allowing it’s users to have a firm grasp over the system in a short amount of time.
A flexible structure was customised for the project and work started on turning the designs into realities, providing Ardoch with constant feedback on development through quick releases of finished functionality to test on internal servers.
Bright Creations ensured the first release of the system coincided with Ardoch’s grand opening.
Release 2 including a full booking system based on varying pricing plans over seasonal periods will be going live very soon. Keep your eyes peeled!
